Sónia Raquel Ferreira Santos Amaral was born in Mangualde, Viseu, in the year 1984.

In 2007 she finished the Architecture Degree and since 2008 is member nr. 17115 of “Ordem dos Arquitectos”, the Portuguese Association of Architects.

She held the post-graduate admission training to “Ordem dos Arquitectos” in 2007-2008, in the city of Penafiel, working on single family house, retail and services’ projects. All projects comprised the stages of Pre-Design, Schematic Design and Base Project, as well as performing 3D virtual models.

In 2009-2010, she collaborated with an Architecture studio in Viseu. Once again, she participated in projects as diverse as single-family houses, public buildings (retirement homes, schools, kindergartens and culture centers), retail (food and beverage establishments), improvement of urban spaces (squares and parks) and interior spaces’ remodeling, in all phases of Architectural Design (from Pre-Design phase to Construction Documents, including 3D modeling and rendering).

In 2011 she created her own studio in the city of Freamunde, Portugal. While placing particular emphasis in the northern part Portugal, the studio is currently expanding with projects around the world.
